AEA Group Sponsors an Amazing Race Team Benefitting the Lakeshore Foundation

Birmingham, Alabama – Lakeshore Foundation hosted the 3rd Annual Lakeshore's Amazing Race on May 21st. Twenty-two teams completed fourteen challenges at Lakeshore and throughout Birmingham to raise support for the Foundation. AEA Group was happy to sponsor a team for this wonderful event, and was pleased to finish in 8th place for the competition. In addition to having a great time, they learned how it feels to compete with a physical disability – to perform routine activities such as making a bed from a wheelchair or play sports such as hitting a softball with a visual impairment – and that people with physical disabilities can do the same things able-bodied individuals do. Lakeshore's goal is to familiarize more of the community with Lakeshore and the people they serve.

Lakeshore Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization that promotes independence for persons with physically disabling conditions and provides opportunities to pursue active, healthy lifestyles.  Lakeshore Foundation offers a wide range of fitness, recreation, athletic and education programs to children and adults who experience diagnostic conditions including spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, amputation, and visual impairment.  The Foundation also serves persons who have been diagnosed with arthritis, diabetes, chronic pain, cardiac conditions, and many other related disorders.
