Digital Forensics/eDiscovery

The Digital Forensics/eDiscovery professionals of AEA Group are experienced in a broad range of technology applications and uses. We provide a variety of consulting services with respect to electronic discovery, forensic technology, data recovery and data reconstruction. We can provide an interface between the legal team and the IT staff to help assess the scope and methodologies required to provide an appropriate response to discovery requests for electronic information. In addition to our technological expertise, we bring a considerable amount of business and financial forensic experience that is often invaluable in identifying evidentiary items of particular interest.

Digital Forensic Services – We are skilled in obtaining forensic data copies (images) from electronic devices including personal computers, file servers, PDAs, etc. Forensic acquisitions are conducted to preserve evidence and maintain chain of custody. Using state-of-the-art tools, we can identify and recover electronic information from deleted files and file fragments. Recovered information can include images, web pages and email (including web-based email). Additional analyses can include investigation of internet activity and computer usage as well as evidence of possible data theft, deletion or spoliation. Once information is recovered, specific searches are conducted and relevant information is extracted and presented.

We adhere to the Digital Forensics Certification Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct as well as the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners (ISFCE) Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.

Expert Witness Services – With certification as DFCP, CCE and CFE, along with our experience and expertise, we are qualified to provide expert witness services in legal disputes. The professionals of AEA Group provide deposition and trial testimony as well as written reports containing their opinions and the results of their analyses.

Electronic Discovery Services – At the beginning of a matter, we interface with the legal team and the client to assist with all phases of the EDRM model, including the overall planning of the electronic discovery project, identification of custodians, collection/preservation of ESI, review and production of ESI, as well as any specific aspect of the process.
